Initiatives taken at PIMAR for student development
The success of the initiatives
taken at PIMAR for student
development are measured by the success achieved by
our students. The course curriculum which forms an
integral part of these initiatives at PIMAR is divided
into the 4 basic phase which are ultimately inter-related,
they are -an interactive teaching program, involvement
of the students in the decision making process, industrial
exposure and addon/extra curricular activities.
Right from the beginning when students are first inducted
into the program they are introduced to the method
of experiential learning a strong mentor-pupil relationship
is stressed upon. Eminent personalities from the industry
lecture the students which in turn gives them an opportunity
to gain a practical view of the corporate world. Moreover
bridging workshops are held in Statistics, Accountancy
and Economics which helps students gain competency
on allied subjects. A unique assessment methodology
is followed at the institute where a feedback system
keeps a check on the student development. The result
of which is that achieve a very specific learning outcome
from every subject.
Students at PIMAR are always encouraged to be involved
in the decision making process in their curriculum
and hence an area of research is assigned to each student
post counseling. Once the research is concluded the
students are able to the working of the industry and
getting a wider scope of work.
As a part of the course curriculum students are provide
with industrial exposure and to make the course more
holistic in nature they get an experience in small
scale, medium scale as well as large scale companies.
Moreover they gain work experience in various departments
and division to attain a comprehensive working knowledge
of the organization and can experience the purpose
and scope of the MBA course.
A management student needs to be a good communicator
to augment his/her management skills and hens keeping
this need un mind PIMAR conducts English communication
courses regularly. Further to keep up with the pace
of modern development PIMAR conducts its education
in association with technology and hens each student
is given a laptop so that they can access online research
material, notes, presentation, reports, etc. This mode
of teaching helps students to think, analyze and learn
and not nearly read and study.
Each Pimarian during their tenure in PIMAR is imbibed
with the philosophy that productivity in an organization
is enhanced with the understanding that money is not
a product is more than the money dependant on means
of production. As they graduate we hope that we hope
that we have been able to instill in them true values
and aptitude to remain a lifelong learner. |
